Chasing Ice Film Screening in Tampa - February 19, 2013

Florida is particularly at risk from rising sea levels. Tidal gauges in Florida show the sea level rose eight inches in the twentieth century. Floridians are already grappling with how to prepare their schools, roads, homes, and airports to withstand sea level rise accelerated by climate change.

Please join us for a special film screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, Chasing Ice. The film follows National Geographic photographer James Balog across the Arctic as he deploys time-lapse cameras designed for one purpose: to capture a multi-year record of the world's changing glaciers. Before we screen the film, we will hear from James Balog and other leading climate change experts.

Date: Tuesday, February 19
Time: 5:30 p.m. reception, 6:00 p.m. panel discussion and film screening
Location: Museum of Science and Industry, 4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33617
